‘Why I set up Secs On The Beach’

Hi, I’m Becky, owner of Secs On The Beach and I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself and why I set the company up.

Networking has always been my favoured form of developing business relationships over the years and I’m a great believer that people buy people. However, all of us who run businesses know how hugely time consuming it can be to attend networking events and as for all that watery coffee, ugh…

A common complaint I’ve picked up from business owners over the years has been that by being out networking and trying to improve their pipeline this has meant that the day-to-day running of their business had suffered and, vice versa; if they were in the office and not networking, their pipeline was flattening – a common catch 22 problem with small business owners!

Many start-up and growing businesses often find a tipping point where they need some help but don’t know who, how or where to get it and they may not be able to afford – or want – to take on a full-time employee.

Through my ‘networking years’ I saw an opportunity to set up a business where we could actively generate leads through networking and telemarketing, knowing this would help business owners free up valuable time. This works to a point of course, but what about the business owners who actually want to go out networking and are best at generating their own leads but need back office support?

Having witnessed the success of setting up a business to support other businesses, I decided to set up Secs On The Beach which is, predominantly, a back office function taking care of the day-to-day running of all things support related for both business and pleasure. I wanted to create a business that takes the pressure off business owners giving them far better work/life balance and giving them back valuable time and head space.

I have a real passion for business; how businesses function and the people behind the wheel. I see and hear it in so many conversations from people who are desperate to get an idea off the ground or to their business is flying and they just need a little extra support either ad-hoc or ongoing. That’s where we come in!
